Manger du lard en Carême avait conduit Marot en prison. Rabelais, en humaniste, s'intéressait à tout : médecine, philosophie, éducation, géographie. Sa verve, sa truculence et sa fantaisie sont restées inégalées

Fils de Gargantua, Pantagruel - qui, bebe, reduit son berceau en miettes, etrangle un ours et mange le jarret de sa nourrice - donne le coup d'envoi de la Renaissance francaise.
